1 PlanetMath Link Rendering Test
This entry is a diagnostic test for the PlanetMath/Noosphere cross-reference commands used by
PhysicsLibrary.
Each test below contains distinctive visible text so that the generated LaTeX, pdf, PNG, and
HTML output can be inspected independently.
2 Automatic cross-reference
The following word is written normally and may be automatically linked by PhysicsLibrary:
vector
The following phrase may also be automatically linked:
vector addition
3 PMlinkexternal
This is an external link test:
EXTERNAL-LINK-TEST
This external link includes a query string:
EXTERNAL-QUERY-TEST
Expected behavior:
- HTML: visible text should be clickable.
- PDF: visible text should be clickable.
- PNG: visible text should appear, but cannot be clickable.
4 PMlinkid
This explicitly links to PhysicsLibrary object 1068:
PM-LINK-ID-TEST
The visible text above should remain exactly “PM-LINK-ID-TEST” in every rendering
method.
5 PMlinkname
This explicitly links using the canonical object name:
PM-LINK-NAME-TEST
The visible text above should remain exactly “PM-LINK-NAME-TEST” in every rendering
method.
6 PMlinktofile
This tests a file stored in this entry’s file box.
PM-LINK-TO-FILE-TEST
For this test, upload a small text file named
pm_link_test.txt
to the entry before testing the link.
7 PMlinkescapetext
The following text should be displayed normally but should not be automatically cross-referenced:
vector addition and vector mechanics
Immediately after it, this ordinary occurrence may be automatically linked:
vector addition
8 PMlinkescapeword
The next command tells the cross-reference system not to automatically link the word “vector” in
this entry:
Diagnostic occurrence:
vector
The word should remain visible as ordinary text and should not acquire an automatic
PhysicsLibrary hyperlink.
9 PMlinkescapephrase
The next command suppresses automatic linking of the phrase “vector addition”:
Diagnostic occurrence:
vector addition
The phrase should remain ordinary visible text.
10 Formatting inside link text
This tests nested LaTeX inside the visible link anchor:
BOLD-EXTERNAL-LINK-TEST
This is particularly useful for testing the brace-aware preprocessing used by the PDF and PNG
renderers.
11 Escaped characters in link text
This tests escaped LaTeX characters in the visible anchor:
SET-{A,B}-LINK-TEST
The visible output should contain
as part of the link text.
12 Multiple links in one paragraph
Here are several links in a single paragraph: MULTI-EXTERNAL, MULTI-ID, and
MULTI-NAME.
All three visible anchors should survive preprocessing.
13 End of test
If this sentence appears, the complete document reached the end of the LaTeX source
successfully.
