"The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a national and international visitor research institute. It runs research programmes on selected themes in mathematics and the mathematical sciences, with applications in a very wide range of science and technology. It attracts leading mathematical scientists from the UK and from overseas to interact in research over an extended period." http://www.newton.ac.uk/lib/
"Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences
Funding of the Newton Institute:
"The Institute is funded from a number of sources, notably the Research Councils, EPSRC and STFC, which cover about 65 per cent of the total running costs. Trinity College (through the Isaac Newton Trust) has committed more than /pound sterling£/2M over the lifetime of the Institute and St John's College gave a subvention of /pound sterling 750K to cover most of the first 5 years' rent; it owns the Institute building but has now leased it to Cambridge University which allows the Institute rent-free use of it. Magnificent donations have been made by NM Rothschild & Sons and by the Dill Faulkes Educational Trust. Further vital support comes from CNRS (for support of French participants), PF Charitable Trust (for support of participants from Scottish institutions), the Leverhulme Trust and the London Mathematical Society."
