This is an almost self-contained introduction to quantum groups as algebraic objects in Physical Mathematics, that is Hopf algebras; this exposition is in highly condensed form and is based on the author's lecture notes for a `pure' Mathematics course at Cambridge University, entitled : "A Quantum Groups Primer (London Mathematical Society Lecture Note Series , No. 292, yr. 2002)".
