- Abstract:
- This exposition presents PDE methods designed to understand the structure of certain Hamiltonian flows in the case that the Hamiltonian is strictly convex in the momenta, and extends such methods from previous paper I to time-dependent Hamiltonians; the authors also provide "a weak interpretation of adiabatic invariance of the action and suggest a formula for the Berry--Hannay geometric phase in terms of an effective Hamiltonian".
