Abstract:
Undoubtedly, many a physicist would disagree with one or several of the 'Copenhagen dogma' statements made in this exposition which is a somewhat severe, but very well-argued sequence of cases. In many cases, the conclusion is likely to be as stated by the author, but in several others, such as quantum logics or the Feynman path integral approach, the author seems to have completely 'missed the mark', and solid arguments are not at all presented. Still, the entire exposition has merit in many of the themes discussed as it raises the challenge of solving problems that are of importance to physics, such as quantum logics; in the latter case, it would seem that the author did not appreciate its value along with the difficulties involved, and it does remains an open, important problem to be solved rather than be summarily dismissed out of hand. Contrary also to the author's opinion, the arguments and cases presented would be quite instructive and interesting to graduate and post-graduate students to study, reflect upon and draw their own conclusions. Such as, is for example, Feynman's path integrals approach and Bohmian Mechanics that are also being dismissed by the author as "lost causes"; many physicists and students would most likely disagree with the arguments made in this over-critical exposition. http://www.mth.kcl.ac.uk/~streater/lostcauses.html#XV http://www.mth.kcl.ac.uk/~streater/index.html Other published papers by the same author are at: http://www.mth.kcl.ac.uk/~streater/papers09.html [126] The Soret and Dufour Effects in Statistical Dynamics, Proc.
