You want to start with Ohms law V = IR and then because you can assume the different length wires have the same resistivity p and the same cross-sectional area you can then use the equation for resistivity

R = p L/A

where L is the length of the wire and A is cross-sectional area.  So if you have the same 'type' of wire than we see resistance goes up for longer wires of the same area.

We really need an entry on ohms law and resistivity.

Testing some escape charachters for html category with a generator has an injective cogenerator" now escape ” with "
