From reading the Bongaarts' paper suggested by rspuzio it seems that
there is a whole new formulation of the postulates of QM based on the CCR and CAR representations. The very concept of state is made more general. The old density operator is replaced by a functional.
I didn't find anything about how the transition probability between two such states is operationally defined.
Please post some material about the foundational aspects of QM entailed by this new formalism.
